First and foremost, I am a Save A Warrior (SAW) Alumni Cohort 056.
Pre-SAW, my adult life story would have included my achievements as a soldier and then a police officer. Hidden beneath those stories was my unescapable decent into darkness. A darkness I finally broke free from due to the amazing program created by SAW Founder Jake Clark.
My Post-SAW story is now being written with a different purpose. I hope to be an ordinary wounded healer whose able to help my fellow warriors struggling with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and suicide.
After SAW, I found the ability to enjoy activities I once loved but slowly faded from my life. The most loved was fishing and camping. I noticed each trip or day at the water I felt better and remained happier for longer periods of time. I also noticed something else highly unusually for me. I was talking to fellow outdoors people. Anyone who knows me just gasped! A common love for fishing and enjoyment outdoors brings a highly diversified group of people into contact with each other. Just one conversation can change or potentially save someone’s life.
My mission is to stop as many of my fellow warriors as I can from descending into the darkness.
Warriors Code Fishing is dedicated to my wife Kristy. Whose love for me shined bright enough for our family while I was in the darkness.
